Who is Joel Overstreet?

I have been doing photography for almost a decade. During my childhood, I was fortunate enough to travel to various parts of the world, including obscure areas that were yet to be explored. I developed an interest in photography because I enjoy telling stories through images when I am back at home. Even today, I continue to travel and capture photographs that tell stories for mission organizations.

What I love to do:

Exploring uncharted territories has always been an exhilarating experience for me. I am constantly on the lookout for new and distinctive dining spots that offer a unique culinary adventure. Meeting new people from diverse backgrounds and cultures is an opportunity to broaden my horizons and learn something new.

Trekking through unfamiliar mountains not only provides physical exercise but also allows me to immerse myself in the beauty of nature.

And taking the plunge off cliffs, while certainly not for the faint-hearted, offers an adrenaline rush like no other. These are the kinds of fresh challenges that keep me excited and motivated in life.

I am deaf.

You read it correctly. I am deaf.

I was born deaf, which left me with only 10% of my hearing. Wearing hearing aids was a necessity for me to communicate with others. It was a difficult but fulfilling journey.

My experiences have taught me a valuable lesson - to never allow minor setbacks to hinder my progress. Despite my disability, I refuse to let it define who I am or limit my potential.
