Before the Shoot
Preparing Your Home
A little preparation goes a long way. The steps below help your home photograph and film at its absolute best — so the final images do the selling for you. Please have everything camera-ready before I arrive.
-
01
Turn on every light
All overhead fixtures, lamps, and accent lighting — on. Warm, fully lit interiors read beautifully on camera.
-
02
Open all blinds & curtains
Raise the blinds and draw back the curtains throughout the home. Natural light brings every room to life.
-
03
Have the home clean & tidy
Clear countertops, made beds, and tidy surfaces make all the difference. The cleaner the space, the more it shines.
-
04
Tuck away the extras
Anything you'd rather keep out of frame — bins, clutter, everyday odds and ends — is perfect for the garage. Out of sight keeps the focus where it belongs.
-
05
Secure pets
Please have dogs and other pets crated, kenneled, or off-site for the duration of the visit.
-
06
Everything ready on arrival
To keep the day on schedule and deliver on time, I'm not able to move furniture, tidy, or rearrange rooms during the shoot. The home should be fully camera-ready when I walk in.
-
07
You're welcome to stay
Feel free to be home while I work — I'll simply ask that you move from room to room with me, keeping each space clear as I photograph and film.
That's it. Take care of these few things, and the rest is on me.
